What The Role IsYou are responsible to lead and drive strategic and operational research and analysis on the Indo-Pacific, and selected countries of interest (COI) in other regions, to provide strategic early warning for MINDEF/SAF and to support MINDEF/SAF decision-making, defence relations, capability development and operational planning.What You Will Be Working On Lead and drive strategic and operational research and analysis Provide strategic early warning for MINDEF/SAF and support MINDEF/SAF decision-making, defence relations, capability development and operational planning Keep pace with political, military and security landscape of countries of interest, as well as their interactions on the global stage Remain ahead of the curve to identify new trends and developments countries of interest may undergo to inform engagement strategies and assess impact on defence capabilities Lead a small team of capable individuals to deliver efficient, outsized impacts while ensuring team's well-being and resilienceChallenge(s) Ensuring team can deliver high-quality research products under tight deadlines Synthesising and analyse large amounts of information to form coherent assessments on identified issues Communicating and explaining complex analysis to non-specialist stakeholders conciselyWhat We Are Looking For Education in Political Science, International Relations, or History is preferred At least 15 years of relevant experience Relevant knowledge on countries of interest Strong leadership skills Strong analytical, research and communication skills Comfortable with cross-cultural communication and relationship buildingOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
