Mediclinic is an international private healthcare services group, founded in South Africa in 1983, with divisions in Switzerland, Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia) and the United Arab Emirates.The Group is focused on providing specialist-orientated, multidisciplinary services across the continuum of care in such a way that the Group will be regarded as the most respected and trusted provider of healthcare services by patients, medical practitioners, funders and regulators of healthcare in each of its markets.MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo support the Hospital General Manager in the effective and efficient operation of the hospital, focusing on support services and support functions. The role ensures that all operational projects, budget coordination, fixed asset management, and integration between clinical and engineering/technical functions are aligned with strategic hospital goals. The role will also oversee and coordinate key administrative departments, including Patient Administration Management (PAM), Human Resources (HR), Finance and Administration Management (FAM), Technology, and Technical Services.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASOperational project management (Support): Manage all hospital projects not directly related to clinical care, including renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology rollouts.Department coordination: Direct and align the following functions: PAM, HR, FAM, Technology, and Technical. Ensure synergy and goal alignment.Contract management: Oversee service contracts, SLAs, renewals, compliance monitoring and vendor performance.Integration of core and engineering services: Facilitate operational synergy between clinical services and engineering support (e.g., facilities, technical maintenance).Fixed asset management: Oversee asset register accuracy, maintenance planning, and lifecycle management of all fixed assets.Risk and compliance monitoring: Ensure adherence to organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and audit compliance.Budget coordination: Coordinate and compile annual hospital budgets across departments, monitor expenditures and ensure compliance.Required EducationESSENTIAL EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related fieldDESIRED EDUCATIONPostgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, MHA), Business management with subjects in financeRequired ExperienceESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCEMinimum 5 years in healthcare or hospital operations managementProven experience in budget management, contract oversight, and operational project deliveryDesired ExperienceExperience in managing within a healthcare environmentPrior leadership role in multidisciplinary coordinationRequired Job Skills And KnowledgeHealthcare industryKnowledge of the clinical environmentUnderstanding of all functions and processes within a private hospital environment, and how disciplines interact with each otherStrategic and Operational PlanningBudgeting and Financial AcumenProject ManagementHealthcare Systems and OperationsContract and Service Level Agreement (SLA) managementLeadership & Team CoordinationGovernance, Risk and Compliance MonitoringRelevant legislative regulationsTechnical/Engineering Integration KnowledgeQuality management principlesHealth and Safety principlesPatient Experience principlesIT/Systems LiteracyDemonstrates computer literacy in the Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
