Business Development Executive — Position SummaryThe Business Development Executive is responsible for driving prospecting efforts and leading customer-focused commercial activities within an assigned territory. Through strategic outreach and relationship-building with senior decision makers, this role promotes our full suite of logistics and supply chain solutions, including third-party logistics (3PL), transportation (air, ocean and ground), warehousing, customs brokerage, and related services. In addition, the role may include account management responsibilities for designated existing clients.This is primarily a field-coverage position focused on developing strong customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, and securing new net logos within the assigned region.Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% within the coverage area.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify and pursue target accounts through strategic prospecting activities, including phone outreach, cold calling, networking, and leveraging previous business relationships.Apply strong consultative selling skills to uncover and understand prospect and customer needs.Develop and execute effective sales strategies that clearly communicate value propositions aligned with customer requirements.Engage with existing customers to assess satisfaction levels and continuously enhance service delivery.Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate individual, team, and company performance.Leverage internal and external resources to maximize revenue generation and expand sales opportunities.Participate in on-the-job training and mentoring programs alongside successful Business Development Executives.Build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships with key clients.Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure flawless execution of customer shipments, guaranteeing timely pickup, transportation, and delivery to meet customer expectations.Coordinate account administrative functions, including new account setup, resolution of accounting discrepancies, and support with collections when needed.Education and Experience RequirementsMinimum of 3 years of sales or business development experience selling across all logistics modes; prior experience in 3PL or contract logistics strongly preferred.Demonstrated success in growing Share of Wallet and securing new net logos.Proven track record in negotiating and closing multi-year contracts valued at $5M+.Experience across all logistics modes, including international freight forwarding. Strong OEM relationships and an established network are highly desirable.
