While the Stratford site is expected to become operational from November 2025 – March 2026, you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Vauxhall or another reasonable location on a temporary basis during the interim period.Please note that, as Stratford will be your contractual place of work, any subsequent move from a temporary location will not entitle you to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy.Job SummaryThe National Assessments Centre (NAC) is responsible for producing all source assessed reporting that provides the authoritative picture of the UK’s understanding of the threat from serious and organised crime (SOC), a key factor in driving the NCA’s activity and protecting the public. The NAC works with other UK and International Intelligence, Law Enforcement and Policy partners charged with tackling SOC and its impact on the UK at all security classifications. As SOC is defined as a ‘national security’ concern, the department also works with the UK Intelligence Community and Counter-Terrorism Policing to assess the crossovers between serious crime, terrorism, and other national security issues. Additionally, the NAC works with key international partners to ensure that assessments truly reflect the global nature of the SOC threat.As an Officer in the NAC Design team, you will work with strategic intelligence analysts across all threat teams in the NAC on design and data visualisation for a wide range of NAC products. The majority of these will be intelligence briefs and assessments, with some bespoke products and an opportunity to work on the Agency’s flagship national suite of products, which includes the National Strategic Assessment.You will use the Adobe suite of products on a daily basis, specifically InDesign and Illustrator. NAC Design is a collaborative and innovative team and will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and training you need to develop in role.You will create data visualisations and lead on design for a variety of strategic intelligence products, at all security classifications and for different audiences, working with analysts within the National Assessments Centre to provide the authoritative understanding of a range of threats from serious and organised crime.Job DescriptionCandidates will need to demonstrate a knowledge of design software, preferably but not limited to Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, or evidence of technical proficiency that shows an ability to learn design software. NAC Design and Data Visualisation Officers produce products at all security classifications for a wider range of audiences, including high profile and national products.The role involves constantly working collaboratively with colleagues, as well as individual projects, to improve our designs and design processes, including maintaining a resource library and developing new design standards.NAC Design and Data Visualisation Officers must work with stakeholders and colleagues, including providing and receiving feedback, peer review, and sharing best practice, to produce a range of products at highest quality.Duties & Responsibilities:Data Visualisation - Design and create impactful data visualisations to effectively and efficiently convey information, often working with complex ideas and large data sets.Product Professionalisation - Use design software to format and apply a professional design to a range of products, at all security classifications, for a range of audiences, from the general public to senior stakeholders.Design - Apply design principles, standards, the NAC brand, and the NAC style to data visualisations and products, using existing guidance and templates.Working Together - Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand requirements, ensuring analysis is interpreted and represented accurately.Quality Assurance - Provide and receive feedback, including peer reviewing for colleagues, and share learning and best practice, to ensure work is of the highest quality.Innovation - Work with colleagues to improve designs and processes, including developing new data visualisation ideas, maintaining a resource library and updating design standards.Design Processes - Follow team processes and ensure compliance with Agency policy, including effective file management and version control.Individual and Team Administration - Complete individual administration tasks in line with NCA policy, such as timesheets and attending team meetings, and to support team administration, including monitoring the team inbox and responding to queries, escalating if required.Candidates will need to demonstrate a knowledge of design software, preferably but not limited to Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, or evidence of technical proficiency that shows an ability to learn design software. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop beneficial.Design - Able to think visually and an interest in design.
