Design Assistant

General SummaryThe Design Assistant is responsible for assisting the Senior Designer with the execution of all private label accessories for Kohl's. This position supports the Wholesale and Accessories business.The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site five days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Design - creating spec sheets and measuring physical samplesCreative Design - be able to put together trend boards based on trend researchDesign product from quality, pattern, colorAble to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as neededPerform other duties and special projects as assigned Specific Job SkillsEssential duties include Organizational Skills - needs to be able to keep track of samples in excel sheets across multiple seasons at the same timeCommunication Skills - this role requires direct communication with the factories and internally with salesPresentation Skills - be able to present product in meetingsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related fieldMinimum of 1 years in related fieldProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.The expected base salary for this position ranges from $24.00 - $26.00. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
