Design Consultant

Location: Korea, Remote workEngagement: Project-based ConsultantAbout the Role:We are seeking a Design Consultant with expertise in urban outdoor apparel to provide creative direction and design development for outdoor label of PORTS. This is a remote, project-based role ideal for a seasoned consultant who thrives in a flexible, independent capacity while delivering high-impact results. The Consultant shall provide the Services pre-dominantly in Korea, but may be required to travel in the China offices of the Group as the nature of the work may require.Key Responsibilities:Design Strategy & Development:Lead the design of seasonal collections for PORTS’ Premium Outdoor Label, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and performance-driven innovation..Partner with the Merchandising team for support to ensure the best understanding and development of seasonal creative concepts.Research and propose innovative fabrics, trims, and construction techniques tailored to performance/luxury hybrid apparel.Create mood boards, color stories, and technical sketches for collections.Technical Design & Product Development:Develop detailed tech packs, including material specs, construction notes, and fit guidelines.Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source advanced fabrics and ensure design feasibility.Review prototypes and provide feedback to uphold design integrity and functionality.Trend & Market Analysis:Monitor global fashion and performance-wear trends, translating insights into actionable design proposals.Analyze competitor products to identify opportunities for differentiation.Cross-functional Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, graphic design, fabric& trim sourcing, production, and merchandising, to ensure designs and merchandising plans align with business goals, meet customer needs and in store delivery window, and are commercially viable.Oversee the creation of pre-styling shoot materials and design presentation documents for buying meetings.Requirements:10+ years of experience in luxury, outdoor, or technical apparel design (freelance or agency experience preferred).Strong portfolio showcasing performance-driven designs, fabric innovation, and technical detailing.Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, and tech pack development.Deep knowledge of functional materials.Fluent English (written/spoken) for seamless remote collaboration.Self-motivated with excellent time management for remote project delivery.If you are interested, please submit your English resume with design portfolio.
