Apply today.The Role.GMC are currently looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team. The Senior Design Manager will lead the design of infrastructure projects, ensuring that all technical designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and project timelines.This role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from concept design to construction handover.Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Key Responsibilities:Manage the design process for large scale road projects, in line with standard / specifications such as Specification for Roadworks, Cycle Design Manual, DMURS etc.Coordinate internal and external design teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, NTA standards, and regulatory requirements.Prepare and review technical designs, drawings, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and constructability.Liaise with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to integrate design and construction activities.Conduct design risk assessments, ensuring all health, safety, and environmental considerations are met.Manage project design schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time project delivery.Support tendering and bid processes by preparing technical documentation and design inputs.Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with clients, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.5+ years' experience in Road infrastructure design and project management.Proven experience delivering projects in line with NTA standards.Strong knowledge of design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Become a part of something bigger.
