From sonar systems that map the ocean floor to wireless tracking technologies and advanced electronics manufacturing, we turn complex challenges into smart, reliable solutions.We are now looking for a Senior R&D Hardware Design Engineer to join our highly skilled hardware team in Trondheim — a hub of innovation where creativity meets precision engineering.About The RoleYou’ll be part of a cutting-edge technology environment specializing in fully integrated multibeam sonar systems — a field where electronics, acoustics, and imagination converge. Our product line includes compact and ultra-high-resolution sonars used across the subsea and hydrographic industries. As part of this dedicated team, you’ll help drive innovation from concept to finished product, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible beneath the surface.RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or Cybernetics 10+ years of experience in electronics development Strong proficiency in electromagnetic theory, with a solid understanding of E- and H-field principles Proven expertise in advanced PCB design techniques Extensive experience in testing and debugging PCB assemblies ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test innovative hardware solutions Create and review schematic designs and PCB layouts using Altium Designer Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes Utilize lab instruments for analysis and validation of designs What We OfferAt NORBIT, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative work environment where innovation thrives.
