Designer - Childrenswear

My client is an established supplier to the UK & European High Street recruiting for a trend driven, dynamic Childrenswear Designer with a proven background in a similar role. Based full time in a dynamic, creative office in central London, you will work within a small team on trend, mood, colour and product development. You will take autonomy for your area and lead customer meetings/relationships. This is a business with an excellent reputation in the industry that is going from strength to strength.You will be confident managing your own workload, leading meetings and building relationships with the buyers.Childrenswear Designer – The RoleResearch, Identify and translate current trends.Working on trend at the start of the season and putting together your own mood, colour and trend boards.Designing commercial, multi product, trend led range to present to clients. This will also include sourcing new fabric and trims at the start of the season.Produce accurate and detailed sketches / CADS and tech packsMonitoring range and customer sampling through from start to finish.Attend customer meetings, present and action any design requests.Monitoring and evaluating sources of inspiration in the industry and wider markets leading to product opportunities ensuring they are incorporated into the ranges.Build strong relationships with clients. Developing both new and existing accounts.Liaise with teams in China for range, sourcing and customer developments.Have a good knowledge of garment construction and fabrics to ensure accurate first samples.Childrenswear Designer – The PersonFlexibility to travel within the UK, Europe and the Far East.Childrenswear Design background is essential.Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads.Familiar working with a variety of UK High Street clients.Driven and PassionateAbility to spot trends and translate themCreative and trend drivenAbility to confidently communicate and lead meetings with buyersCompetent user of both adobe photoshop and illustrator with exceptional CAD skillsExceptional presentation / CAD skills.
