The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a commercial furniture dealership environment with strong proficiency in CET Designer and AutoCAD. This role is responsible for managing and executing complex design projects from concept through installation in partnership with the Design Manager, Sales team, and Project Managers.The Designer will play a key role in space planning, specification, product application, and client presentations, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards, project timelines, and client expectations.Key Responsibilities Lead and manage design deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Create detailed drawings in AutoCAD and CET Designer (furniture plans, typicals, renderings, and 3D views). Develop complete specifications and .sif files for all furniture types, including systems, private offices, and ancillary products. Review and check specifications created by junior designers to ensure accuracy. Collaborate closely with the Sales and Account Management teams to interpret client needs and translate them into functional design solutions. Coordinate with project management, installation teams, and manufacturers to ensure seamless execution. Prepare and present design concepts, finish palettes, and furniture solutions to clients and internal teams. Conduct field verifications and ensure all dimensions are accurate and reflected in final plans. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of furniture systems, industry trends, and manufacturer product lines. Participate in ongoing training and continuing education sessions related to design tools and product updates. Support internal reporting processes including timesheets, project tracking, and documentation. Adhere to all project deadlines and maintain consistent communication with the Design Manager regarding project status.QualificationsSkills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited university. 5–7 years of relevant experience in a commercial furniture dealership or corporate interiors environment. Proficient in CET Designer and AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus. Strong understanding of Steelcase and other major manufacturer product lines. Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed. Ability to work extended hours as necessary to support project timelines and client needs.
