Job Description

Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Windows Deployment Technician to join their IT Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the imaging, configuration, and deployment of Windows-based workstations and laptops across multiple regional offices, ensuring all systems meet enterprise standards for performance, security, and reliability. This position requires both strong technical expertise and exceptional customer service skills to support end users across several locations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Windows OS deployment and imaging using tools such as SCCM, Intune, or MDT.Configure and install hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications on new and existing workstations.Migrate user profiles, data, and configurations from legacy systems to new environments.Support all staff in the Vancouver and Calgary regional offices, as well as remote users in Toronto and Montreal.Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) test events multiple times per year (typically 4), ensuring readiness and documentation of recovery processes.Conduct quarterly (or as required) site visits to the client’s Vancouver office for one or two days per trip (all expenses covered by the company).Provide Level 2 technical support, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues.Maintain compliance with corporate IT standards, security policies, and patch management requirements.Support Active Directory administration, including group policy updates, computer accounts, and access controls.Maintain accurate asset tracking and inventory records.Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and service desk teams to ensure successful rollouts and user onboarding.Document deployment procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.Required Skills and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Level 2 Technician, with strong technical troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service.Expertise in Windows 10/11 deployment, configuration, and maintenance.Proficiency with SCCM, Intune, or MDT for image deployment and endpoint management.Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration.Familiarity with BitLocker, antivirus tools, and endpoint security management.Strong understanding of hardware components, drivers, and network connectivity troubleshooting.Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills; able to support both local and remote users effectively.Demonstrated work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail in a professional environment.Preferred QualificationsCompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent certifications.Experience supporting financial or enterprise environments.Familiarity with ServiceNow, Remedy, or Service Desk Plus for ticketing and asset management.Basic PowerShell scripting for automation and deployment support.EducationCollege diploma or equivalent certification in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or related field.Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with some remote work flexibility.Quarterly travel to Vancouver (1–2 days per trip) — expenses covered by the company.May require lifting and moving computer equipment.Availability during after-hours or weekends during large deployment or DR testing periods.
