Desktop Support SpecialistAuburn Hills, MI12 month+ contract$24.17/hrPrimary Responsibilities:Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and AV/classroom technology.Research, resolve, and respond to complex technical issues in accordance with organizational standards and best practices.Acquire, maintain, and expand knowledge of relevant product offerings, support policies, and delivery methods to provide technically accurate solutions.Participate in or lead team projects that enhance support quality or operational efficiency.Consult with end-users to determine hardware, software, networking, and AV/classroom technology needs.Recommend appropriate hardware, software, and configuration standards based on user requirements.Install and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, software, and network components.Assist in supporting and maintaining VDI environments or VMware-based virtual desktop solutions.Perform Windows operating system upgrades, including migrating systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11.Document procedures, technical issues, and resolutions. Create and maintain user support documentation.Train end-users on proper use of equipment and software.May assist in training and mentoring student interns or junior staff.Stay current with emerging technologies and participate in the evaluation of new tools and platforms.Qualifications:Associate degree in Information Technologies or a related field or equivalent technical training required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of two years' experience providing PC support in a networked environment.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.Experience with VDI or VMware preferred.Familiarity with supporting AV/classroom technology equipment such as projectors, displays, sound systems, and control panels.Experience performing Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade processes, including driver and application compatibility testing.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse work environment.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
