Job Description

Position Title:            Workforce Success CoachDepartment:              Career Technical EducationReports To:              DVR Director Supervises:             Students Enrolled in the PathwaysPrimary Function:  Under general direction, the Workforce Success Coach plays a pivotal role in the Des Plaines Valley Region, driving the success of the Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP). This position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with the program’s guidelines, facilitating the recruitment of employer partners contributing to workforce development initiatives, and supporting the growth of work-based learning opportunities for youth.

The Workforce Success Coach will guide students through essential career readiness skills, including professionalism, job searching, and interview techniques, while ensuring effective collaboration among schools, employers, and other community stakeholders. The Workforce Success Coach will ensure compliance is met for the IYIP Grant while supporting College and Career Pathway Endorsements. This position reports directly to the Des Plaines Valley Region Director. Performance Responsibilities: Grant Management●    Oversee all aspects of the Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP) to ensure strict adherence to grant guidelines and objectives. ●    Develop a comprehensive understanding of program requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

●    Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with program goals. ●    Monitor all program activities for compliance with regulations and policies, conducting regular audits and assessments to address any potential issues. ●    Maintain open and effective communication channels among all stakeholders to support the success and sustainability of the program. ●    Provide ongoing support to stakeholders to address inquiries, challenges, and concerns related to the grant. ●    Other responsibilities as assigned. Work-Based Learning●    Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with high schools, community organizations, and employers to identify and secure work-based learning opportunities for students.

●    Actively recruit employers across all seven career pathways for internships, job shadowing, and pre-apprenticeships. ●    Offer guidance and mentorship to students throughout their work-based learning experiences, including orientations, skill-building workshops, and regular performance evaluations. ●    In a classroom setting, foster a supportive and enriching environment for students to develop professional competencies and gain real-world experience. Data Collection & Reporting●    Develop and implement efficient systems for collecting, tracking, and reporting on program data, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to funding agencies. ●    Analyze program data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and provide actionable insights for ongoing program improvements.

●    Produce regular reports and communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with program objectives and grant requirements. Capacity Building●    Identify and promote opportunities for professional development, both for program staff and external partners. ●    Deliver training and technical assistance to ensure all participants understand grant requirements and best practices. ●    Champion a culture of continuous improvement and learning to enhance the overall impact and sustainability of the program. Qualifications: ●    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or Education is preferred. ●    Preferred, two years of experience working with grants, including managing regulations and reporting requirements.

●    Experience working with high school students, preferably in career coaching, workforce development, or education. ●    Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting. ●    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. ●    Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. ●    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). ●    Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all program activities. ●    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to high schools, employer sites, and community meetings.
