Development Manager – Unite Stream

About The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead two development teams in our Unite Stream, the platform serving thousands of dental clinics worldwide. Unite enables clinics to manage their daily workflows and ensures seamless communication with dental labs.You will oversee teams working across Angular frontends, backend services in C#, and supporting infrastructure for some of our most used products. Your role is to create the conditions where the teams can do their best work: clarity of purpose, predictable delivery, strong collaboration, and a healthy balance between feature development and long-term technical health.What You Will DoBuild, coach, and develop two teams, cultivating an environment where people can do the best work of their lives. Lead your teams through the full product lifecycle - from ideation and development to deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on customer feedback. Ensure teams have clear ownership of domains, responsibilities, and deliverables. Optimize development practices for stability, scalability, performance, and rapid delivery. Ensure technical excellence in CI/CD, code quality, observability, and automation. Champion sustainable engineering practices, including clean code, testing strategies, and security by design. Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure end-to-end delivery of features and services. Work in close partnership with Product Management to turn priorities into actionable plans, ensuring timely and predictable delivery of features with clear trade-offs on scope, quality, and speed. Balance business-driven feature delivery with technical health, ensuring sustainable progress over time. Manage cognitive load for developers by simplifying processes, clarifying interfaces, and enhancing autonomyShape 3Shape’s architecture and technical landscape, contributing to a maintainable and scalable platform. Participate alongside other leaders to define and propagate best engineering practices across the wider organization.What We Are Looking For4+ years of experience in software engineering with exposure to complex, fast-growing environments. 2+ years of leadership experience managing and growing engineering teams. Proficient in architecture patterns, backend systems, release processes, real-time data flow, and securityFamiliarity with cloud services, data synchronization, and security & compliance best practices (Azure experience is a plus). Practical engineering background with a deep appreciation for clean, maintainable, and scalable codeAn eye for system design and architecture, with the ability to weigh trade-offs and make pragmatic decisions. Experience with automated testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and performance at scale.
