DevOps Engineer

Job ResponsibilitiesMaintaining the platform by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health;Cooperating with service and development teams to ensure stable and reliable IT operations;Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure to support continuous delivery;Ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and adherence to our IT process framework;Understanding stakeholder needs and translating them into technical requirements for developers;Automating and improving development, testing, and release processes using GitOps and CI/CD practices;Investigating and resolving technical issues across cloud and on-prem environments;Collaborating with developers and requirements engineers to ensure adherence to established processes;Building tools and automation to reduce errors, improve developer productivity, and enhance customer experience;Planning and coordinating small infrastructure or platform initiatives;Working as part of an agile delivery team (Scrum/Kanban) to drive continuous improvement.Job SpecificationsThe following knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training;Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role;Strong hands-on experience with AWS as a cloud provider and Linux as the primary operating system;Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CrossPlane, or Bash;Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/OKD), and Helm;Familiarity with serverless compute (e.g. AWS Lambda) and related AWS services like EC2, S3, EBS, Route 53, and VPC networking (Subnets, Security Groups, PrivateLink, Endpoints);Practical understanding of GitOps and CI/CD workflows using tools like GitHub Actions, Argo CD, and Kargo;Experience with monitoring, metrics, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, OpenTelemetry, and Jaeger;Knowledge of databases (Postgres, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB) and messaging/streaming platforms (Kafka, Pulsar);Experience managing service mesh and networking components (e.g. Istio, ALB/NLB);Familiarity with artifact and build management tools such as Artifactory;Solid scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash);Understanding of security and identity management (IAM, SAML, OIDC, KMS, SSM, Parameter Store, Thales, Cognito);Awareness of build/dependency scanning and code quality tools (Dependabot, CodeQL);Experience with issue tracking and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence) and IT service tools (ServiceNow, IDM);Problem-solving attitude with a proactive and collaborative team spirit;Familiarity with and curiosity for new technologies and cloud-native practices;Good command of English, written and spoken; German skills are an advantage.
