Job Description

DHL Express Kuwait has an opening for a Terminal Handling Agent. The jobholder is responsible for processing and transferring all shipments Inbound / outbound material, in line with local, regional, global and ISO / THP standards in order to meet the GSC / SQI measures and the country objectives. In this position: Process all material entering and departing the distribution centre in an efficient, accurate and timely manner, in order to achieve transfer and distribution throughout the network within THP requirement. Load/unload vehicles in an efficient, accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance to priorities set by the Shift Supervisor.

Ensure to maintain a log of both hard/soft copy customs related paperwork for all material entering and departing the distribution centre (As applicable) and submit a daily O/B, On-Hold, FOC and Split Booking paperwork report to the Shift Supervisor. Ensure that all shipments entering and departing the distribution centre are data captured and all check points recorded in compliance to THP/ISO standards so that 100% accurate and timely data is available to the network. Ensure on time submission of Airway bills to the manifestor for timely data transfer and submit a daily CIA imaging report.

Carry out a proper physical hand over of shipments, which are left behind to the next shift Supervisor before end of duty to ensure smooth changeover. Ensure all the shipment’s are weighed (volumetric or dead) and the right data is entered on the airway bill. Check the product type if not clear and consult with the shift supervisor and ensure to carry out CIA imaging and bagging before forwarding the shipment’s to airside, to avoid revenue leakage and also double check multiple piece shipment’s before processing in order to avoid switch shipments.

Ensure proper sorting / scanning and physical loading are done as per the assigned HUID tag & the movement to avoid service failures. Ensure De-bagging of empty bags are met at all times while on shift to avoid shipment being left inside the bags. Ensure proactively to re-pack any damaged shipment as and when applicable to avoid customer complaints & service incidents. Ensure on time collection from CCTR for all outbound shipments and connection is met with aviation in compliance to THP and Network standard’s.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Secondary School education Good Verbal and written English communication skills with knowledge of Arabic preferable. Good understanding of basic service theory. Ability to understand different task assigned. Demonstrates high level of commitment, energy and resilience. Passion for delighting customers. Committed for delivering quality results and exceeding expectations. Good problem solving skills. Good at building relationships and interpersonal skills. Have a valid and clean KWI driving licence.
