Discover all Thales activities in here.Say HI* – to your career as aDigital HW Development EngineerIn our Tubize site, you will join 250+ colleagues recognised by domestic and international partners for their expertise on Radio Frequency (RF) Products, C4ISR, Crypto Global Solution, MACS (Aeronautical Intercom) and many others.Your mission:You will be responsible for new-product development tasks, including breadboarding, circuit simulation, electronic test procedure documentation, and lab guidance of product testingYou will be responsible for the design and development of digital products from concept to production. This includes analysis of customer specifications, sub-system and detailed design. As such you will create digital circuits, ensuring signal integrity and optimal performanceYou will centre your activity on digital electronic systems design, ranging from simple embedded microcontrollers to high-end FPGA-based systemsYou will define the PCB schematics and guide layout engineers, validate prototypes, perform design integration and qualification, and follow up the design into productionYou will contribute to product qualification according to high-level international standards. You will also ensure the electronic designs meet industry standards and regulatory compliance.What we are looking for:You hold a Master’s Degree in engineering with a specialty in electronics, telecommunications or equivalentYou have at least 5 years of experience in digital circuit designYou are comfortable with analysing customer needs and determining the requirements, capacity, and cost for developing productsYou are interested in designing, developing, analysing, and testing new and existing electrical and electronic products to specifications provided by the customer and marketingYou are passionate about technology and willing to learn new technologiesYou design digital hardware that can be used with either analogue, digital, or mixed-signal technology.As a strong bonus, you have:Knowledge of boundary scan testingKnowledge of reliability and design robustness analysis (MTBF and MTTF calculations, worst-case, part stress, Failure Mode analysis)Knowledge of signal integrityProblem-solving, debugging and failure analysis skills with a solid understanding of core engineering principlesHands-on laboratory work including using oscilloscope, network analysers, spectrum analysers and other test equipmentCommunication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in oral and written forms across different management levelsThe ability to work in team and a taste for international contactsThe flexibility to integrate a project at different stagesGood command of English and fluency in French and/or Dutch.Thales Group is a global technology leader with more than 81,000 employees on five continents.
