Role SummaryAt the heart of Pfizer's Digital transformation sits Global Cloud Services, enabling modern cloud infrastructure and engineering capabilities that influence business outcomes and provide value to our business, shareholders, and patients every day.The Director of Cloud Operations is accountable for the reliability, stability, security, and operational excellence of the enterprise cloud platforms. This role leads global cloud operations teams responsible for 24x7 service availability, incident management, operational automation, cost governance, and continuous improvement across a multi cloud environment.The role partners closely with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams to ensure cloud platforms operate at scale, meet compliance requirements, and deliver a consistently high-quality experience for product and business teams.Role ResponsibilitiesCloud Operations & Reliability Own end‑to‑end operational health of multi‑cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including availability, performance, resilience, and recoverability Establish and mature SRE‑inspired operational models, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and reliability metrics Serve as executive escalation point for major incidents and operational risks Operational Governance & Automation Drive automation‑first operations using Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and self‑healing patterns Define and enforce operational standards, runbooks, and control frameworks Partner with Cloud Engineering to ensure operability is embedded by design Security, Compliance & Risk Ensure cloud operations meet security, regulatory, and audit requirements Partner with Cybersecurity and Risk teams to remediate findings and reduce operational risk Oversee patching, vulnerability remediation, and platform hardening programs Financial & Capacity Management Lead cloud cost governance (FinOps), capacity planning, and usage optimization Provide transparent reporting on consumption, efficiency, and optimization outcomes People & Leadership Lead and develop global Cloud Operations leaders and teams Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence Operate effectively in a highly matrixed, global organization Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform operations, or SRE aligned roles 5+ years leading global operations or platform teams Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider with strong multi cloud experience Strong background in automation, monitoring, incident management, and operational governance Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach Preferred QualificationsExperience operating large scale, regulated cloud environmentsStrong understanding of FinOps, ITSM modernization, and SRE practicesProven ability to lead operational transformation at enterprise scaleWork Location Assignment: HybridPurposeBreakthroughs that change patients' lives...
