Job Description

An award‑winning international convention and exhibition venue — recognized as one of the world’s preferred MICE destinations — is seeking a Director in Facility Development to lead the planning and execution of major facility enhancement and modernization projects. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the future of a world‑class venue, overseeing development works, facility upgrades, and operational readiness to ensure the venue continues to deliver a premium experience for global events. Key Responsibilities- Lead Development Strategy: Oversee long‑term renovation, expansion, and infrastructure development projects, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives and guest experience goals. - Project & Asset Management: Manage the full lifecycle of development initiatives — from design, budgeting, and procurement through to completion — maintaining schedule, quality, and compliance. - Facilities Operations & Maintenance: Ensure all building systems, utilities, and assets are well maintained with effective preventive maintenance programs and operational readiness plans. - Sustainability & Innovation: Champion energy efficiency, smart building technologies, and environmentally sustainable design to support the organisation’s long‑term vision. - Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Build and guide a high‑performing facilities team and external service providers; collaborate with internal departments to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. - Compliance & Safety: Manage adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards, ensuring risk control and audit readiness. Key Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field. - At least 10 years’ relevant experience in facilities development and management within hospitality, convention, or large‑scale commercial environments. - Proven success in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex capital projects. - Sound knowledge of building systems, sustainability practices, and regulatory compliance. - Certifications in Green Mark or Sustainability an advantage. - Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills. - Comfortable working flexible hours to meet operational needs and capable of conducting physical site inspections when required.
