Together, we’re solving the world’s toughest challenges and shaping a low-carbon future.Lummus Technology is seeking a seasoned HR leader for the role of Director, Human Resources, based in The Hague, Netherlands. This position will oversee all HR Operations and Employee Experience across Europe, playing a critical role in shaping the overall employee journey at Lummus. The Director will lead day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career development, and strategic HR initiatives. They will also manage key projects and processes across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regional business goals and people practices. This is a high-impact role that requires strong partnership with business leaders to drive engagement, growth, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead HR Transformation: Serve as a change agent for HR transformation initiatives, aligning HR capabilities with the evolving needs and growth of the business. Strategic HR Support: Provide expert guidance to HR business partners, managers, and staff on complex and sensitive matters, including employee relations, investigations, and terminations. Talent Strategy Execution: Collaborate with leadership to implement talent strategies focused on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and succession planning. Organizational Development: Apply deep expertise in organizational design and restructuring, leading large-scale change initiatives across Europe. Talent Acquisition Partnership: Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure timely and effective hiring, particularly for leadership and hard-to-fill roles; support hiring managers in defining role requirements and competencies. Learning & Development: Partner with Talent Management to promote a culture of continuous learning; identify and support internal development opportunities for employees. Compensation Strategy: Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to make data-driven compensation recommendations that support talent attraction and retention. International HR Support: Advise on international HR matters including global assignments, visa processes, travel coordination, and local immigration compliance. Employee Relations Oversight: Manage disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations with consistency and care. Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure adherence to local and country-specific employment laws and regulations; regularly review and update HR policies and practices. HR Trends & Innovation: Stay current on HR trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance HR practices. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the broader HR function.Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseBachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.A minimum of fifteen (15) years of human resources experience with five (5) years of experience in a leadership role preferred.Experience with change management or HR transformation initiatives preferred.Experience world-class people practices – i.e., Talent Management/ Succession Planning/ Strategic Workforce Planning/ Performance ManagementAble and willing to work a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three (3) days a week in the office.Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to successfully foster a collaborative team environment.Ability to support employees across global time zones. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, applicant tracking, and talent management systems.
