Job PurposeThe Director, Industrial Engineering & Planning is responsible for leading and developing the company’s Industrial Engineering, Capacity Planning, and Capital Management functions. This role provides strategic direction to optimize capacity, ensure capital efficiency, and enable long-term business growth.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Capacity & Business PlanningPartner with senior leadership to assess business requirements and formulate data-driven capacity and capital strategies to support short- and long-term growth.Develop and maintain a multi-year capacity roadmap aligned with corporate growth targets, productivity goals, and revenue objectives.Drive execution of long-term capacity and factory expansion plans, proactively identifying and closing capacity or capability gaps.Communicate productivity and utilization targets to Operations leadership and negotiate improvement commitments.Optimize manufacturing capacity through asset sharing, cross-facility utilization, and strategic equipment disposition.Ensure Industrial Engineering priorities are fully integrated with Operations objectives and contribute measurable value to the business.2. Capital Expenditure (CapEx) & Asset ManagementLead development of campus-level consolidated capital plans based on approved budgets, business growth projections, and scenario analysis.Collaborate with Sourcing, Finance, and Operations teams to align procurement strategies with capital optimization goals (e.g., used tool purchases, volume discounts, and redeployment opportunities).Oversee enterprise-wide asset management processes, ensuring visibility and accountability for all excess, idle, or redeployable equipment.Implement continuous improvements in capital planning, asset tracking, procurement governance, and equipment lifecycle management.3. Systems, Models, and Process DevelopmentEstablish standardized capacity modeling methodologies, input validation, and reporting frameworks across all manufacturing sites.Drive the development of scalable, digital models and planning tools to support scenario analysis, long-term forecasting, and “black box” modeling requirements.Define and institutionalize best practices and standard operating methods across the Industrial Engineering organization.Champion process improvements and digital transformation initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, decision velocity, and operational transparency.Ensure strong linkage between business demand forecasts, factory capacity requirements, and integrated business planning systems.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or a related technical discipline.ExperienceMinimum 15 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or strategic planning capacity.Proven track record in Industrial Engineering, Capacity Planning, and Capital Asset Management at a multi-site or global manufacturing organization.Demonstrated success in developing and implementing large-scale capacity strategies, leading high-performing engineering teams, and driving measurable operational improvements.Leadership & AttributesStrong leadership presence with ability to influence cross-functional and executive stakeholders.Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to articulate complex strategies to diverse audiences.Strategic thinker with strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.High proficiency in data analysis tools, capacity modeling systems, and enterprise planning platforms.Collaborative, innovative, and execution-oriented mindset.
