Director, Insurance FinanceFull TimeCayman Island (onsite)What is the opportunity?This is a multi-disciplinary financial position that has leadership and accountability for financial reporting (both management and external), controls, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) financial oversight, cash and foreign exchange monitoring and management, payment approvals, collateral and liquidity management, planning and forecasting, oversight of investments and capital management.This role also has interaction with internal audit, external audit, rating agencies (AM Best and Standard & Poors), regulators and insurance counterparties and includes participation in a number of management committees (Investment Committee and Board meetings). What will you do?Responsible and accountable for the daily financial operations including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis and reportingPreparation for and compliance with periodic internal audits of accounting processes and controls and annual external financial statement audits and shareholder financial statementsRegular communications with business managers, risk management, Finance and Tax group on financial issues and regulatory/statutory issuesResponsible and accountable for financial reporting at Board meetings including preparation and analysis of results, dividends calculations and preparation of related Board materialsApprove payments (cheques and wires and investments) and review account reconciliations and group head sign off on PEGAAccountable as contact for communication, including formal face-to-face meetings with AM Best and Standard & Poor’s in their annual reviews and preparation of capital models and information returnsManages operating cash flows and financial operationsWorking within Insurance and Financial Group guidelines, develops and maintains a strong reinsurance finance infrastructure providing efficient and effective accounting processes policies and controlsResponsible for the timely and accurate financial analysis including budgeting and forecastingDetailed monitoring and analysis of actual results including issue resolution and communication of results and operating issuesWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveBachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business/Finance/AccountingRecognised Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA) or equivalent7-10 years’ work experience in financial reporting, planning and forecastingExtensive reinsurance industry knowledge and experience, preferably at the international levelStrong understanding of insurance products and knowledge of IFRS including IFRS17Superior written and verbal communication skills and related experience essential to work effectively internally at all levels across a large and diverse organization and externally with influential rating agencies and regulatory and tax authorities
