The NFL Media Strategy and Business Development department oversees the strategy, deal execution, and licensing of NFL content across all media platforms. Its core mandate is to grow the business of the National Football League by distributing content in a manner that reaches and engages both new and existing fans, increases revenue for the business, and creates long-term strategic value for the 32 Member Clubs. The group’s work includes market and competitive analysis, new business development, business and rights valuation, deal negotiation, go-to-market process management, and ongoing execution and management of media partnerships.The Director role will focus on deepening relationships with current partners, identifying and developing new business opportunities, as well as the formation of strategic partnerships and alliances. This role requires a strong self-starter who can combine a solid understanding and interest of the media space with a comprehensive foundation in business analysis. This role works closely with many departments across the NFL’s New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles offices including Broadcasting, Sponsorship, DTC Strategy, Affiliate, Media Sales, Legal, Finance, Marketing and NFL Digital Media Product & Engineering Teams.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, negotiate and manage strategic relationships with media partnersConduct financial analyses and develop proposals to evaluate new business opportunitiesProduce and lead presentations for senior executives inside and outside the organizationLead partnership management (product & project management) as well as strategy development efforts Work with media partners to drive innovation to enhance the live game viewing experienceMaintain market intelligence on media and sports rights more broadlyTrack consumption trends across media partnershipsContribute to positive group culture to foster high performance, efficient processes and professional developmentRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree, with an MBA preferredMinimum 10 years of work experience in a corporate strategy role at a leading media company / sports organization, and/or experience in consulting or financial services5+ years of management experienceOther Key Attributes / CharacteristicsCandidates must be able to show experience and understanding of the media industry and key trends within the media landscape. Experience within the sports/media industry preferredAdept at negotiating sound commercial agreements, and possessing a solid understanding of contracts, particularly licensing arrangementsDeep understanding of financial analysis and modelingProven ability to think strategically and analyticallyEffective partner facing communication and presence, including being the “face of the NFL” for large and small partnersA team player who is able to establish credibility quickly in order to effectively interface at all levels in a complex organizationStrong attention to detail; expected to execute tasks with minimal error and high level of efficiencyStrong, confident personal style that can persuade and motivate others to accomplish corporate goals while holding team members accountable to a high standard of performanceExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently produce written materials and analysis in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointUnwavering commitment to honest and ethical business interactionsA great work ethic and positive attitudeTravel: OccasionallyTerms / Expected Hours of Work: NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week in the New York Office.Salary / Pay RangeThis job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified.
