This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals for service excellence and clinical outcomes. The Director will collaborate closely with clinical teams, support services, and administrative leadership to optimize therapy delivery, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives. The Director of Acute and Outpatient Therapy Services is responsible for positioning the health system as the leading provider of therapy services in its current and future markets through strategic service line development, planning and implementation. This role coordinates and supervises the operations of therapy service departments, facilitating both intradepartmental and interdepartmental communication to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality patient care services. The Director plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction across therapy programs. Important Note: This position does not oversee the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. Oversight of Inpatient Rehab remains under separate leadership and is not within the scope of this role.EDUCATIONGraduate of Bachelor’s degree program (or foreign equivalent) in a health sciences-related field. Master’s Degree preferred.Current license in the state of Georgia as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.ExperienceFive (5) years of experience in acute or outpatient therapy services.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge of DNV standards, CARF, OSHA and Occupational Medicine regulatory requirements.Planning, communicating, teambuilding, networking, writing, listening, leading, motivating and critical thinking skills are necessary for success.Required computer skills for collation of information.Ability to analyze data for improvement opportunities.Utilizes discretion in handling confidential information.Thorough understanding of managed care, third party payer systems, and marketing required.WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATIONMust be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended period of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in hospital or personal vehicle. Moderately heavy lifting (0-25 lbs), reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
