Our growing Power and Data division is pioneering wireless charging solutions that enable greater operational endurance and flexibility for unmanned systems and dismounted operations.Position SummaryGalvion is seeking an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated Director of Business Development, USSOCOM to lead and expand our business with US Special Operations Command. This role will report to the Vice President of Business Development, Americas and will be responsible for executing strategic campaigns and driving order growth in a key market segment for Galvion.This role will be responsible for building our SOCCOM pipeline for all of Galvion’s offerings.The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of business development or operations experience in the Defense industry predominately in the USSOCOM sector. You must have a strong understanding of the marketplace, key USSOCOM Stakeholders, and a proven ability to drive growth through effective, negotiation, and strategic collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesUSSOCOM Strategy & GrowthDevelop and execute a comprehensive business development and capture strategy to drive growth specifically within USSOCOM, its component commands (e.g., USASOC, MARSOC, NSW, AFSOC), related program offices (e.g., PEO US SPECIAL OPERATIONS Digital Applications, PEO Fixed Wing, PEO US SPECIAL OPERATIONS Warrior) and development organizations (US SPECIAL OPERATIONS AT&L S&T).Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key USSOCOM stakeholders, including end-users, program offices, and acquisition authorities.Identify, shape, and qualify new business opportunities that align with USSOCOM's operational needs and Galvion's core competencies in protective solutions and advanced power and data management.Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for Galvion within the USSOCOM community, advocating for our capabilities and gathering critical user feedback.Lead and participate in all phases of the capture process for key opportunities, including market analysis, competitive assessment, bid strategy, and proposal development.Drive and support the preparation of persuasive white papers, RFI responses, and proposals, ensuring all content effectively communicates Galvion's value proposition.Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and program management, to ensure proposed solutions align with customer requirements and program timelines.Represent Galvion at key industry events, tradeshows, and technical exchange meetings relevant to the special operations community.Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic business planning and investment decisions.Manage a robust pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasts and regular reports on business development activities to senior leadership.Required QualificationsExperience: A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in business development in the US Defense industry with a demonstrated track record of success within the Special Operations Forces (US SPECIAL OPERATIONS) or Department of Defense (DoD) sector.US SPECIAL OPERATIONS Expertise: Deep familiarity with the US Special Operations ecosystem, including its mission sets, procurement pathways, and acquisition mechanisms (e.g., OTAs, US SPECIAL OPERATIONS WERX).Relationship Management: Strong existing network and ability to build trusted relationships with senior military officials, program managers, and key decision-makers across USSOCOM.Acquisition Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the government contracting and acquisition processes, including FAR/DFAR regulations.Strategic & Technical Acumen: Ability to develop strategic business campaigns and translate complex technical details into compelling value propositions for both head protective solutions and power/data systems.Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting to senior-level audiences.Education: A technical, business, or defense-related bachelor’s degree is preferred, but relevant US SPECIAL OPERATIONS -focused business development experience or prior military service in a US SPECIAL OPERATIONS capacity is highly valued.Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more.Join Galvion?At Galvion, we design and deliver mission-critical head, face, and power solutions that enhance the agility and survivability of the modern warfighter.
