We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Communications, Southeast Asia to lead the region’s communications agenda — developing and executing strategies that engage employees, customers, media, authorities, and communities.As one of DP World’s fastest-growing regions, Southeast Asia presents both opportunity and complexity, with diverse markets, major brand integrations, and an increasing need for cross-business collaboration.Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, APAC, this Bangkok-based role is a key member of the regional team, overseeing internal and external communications, digital and social media, and global partnerships in coordination with APAC Centres of Excellence.Key AccountabilitiesBuild and execute a cohesive communications strategy for South East Asia aligned with APAC business goals, the Transformation Plan, and DP World’s brand purpose.Tailor narratives to local sector priorities and country realities while embedding a customer-first mindset to shift from B2B to B2B2C.Lead the regional communications calendar covering internal and external initiatives across multiple channels and platforms.Deliver integrated communications campaigns through intranet, newsletters, leadership forums, events, earned media, and digital platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LINE, and TikTok.Activate global partnerships locally, collaborating with APAC Communications and Commercial teams to drive brand awareness and business impact.Partner with HR and business leaders to craft clear transformation and change communications, coaching leaders to communicate simply and consistently.Build and manage strong media relationships to enhance brand reputation, monitor external commentary, and manage issues or crises effectively.Define and track communications KPIs, analyze campaign performance and media metrics, and continuously improve through testing and learning.Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, agencies, and centers of excellence to deliver high-quality outputs on time and on budget.Uphold DP World’s brand purpose, safety standards, Code of Conduct, and visual identity across all communications activities.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceAt least 12 years of experience in Communications management – ideally, in a B2B2C and multi-national context. Proven ability to build strategy and execute integrated campaigns that move business outcomes.Demonstrated change communications experience in transformation programs.Commercial acumen and the ability to deliver against agreed objectives and deadlines within budgetary guidelines is necessary. The successful candidate will need an understanding of how large companies operate and the ability to act cross-functionally, with good stakeholder management skills and ideally some experience of rolling out change management/transformation communications programmes. Outstanding writing and editing skills with the ability to create clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.Strong inter-personal skills are needed, as the role requires the ability to create and sustain relationships across a diverse range of internal constituencies. Accomplished skills in communication and team working are necessary. As is a global outlook and sensitivity to cross-cultural differences, and a positive perspective on issues of sustainability, diversity and inclusiveness. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, who proactively identifies issues and opportunities with minimal supervision. Excellent multi-tasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work, when necessary. Someone who brings passion to the role in order build, create and make things better. Possessing strong influencing/motivating skills and the ability to drive delivery through others.Education to tertiary level is required. A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English and one or more South East Asian languages is a plus..
