The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West, Great South, Upper wheatbelt and Peel Regions of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of services including GP Clinics, Primary Health Care, Counselling, NDIS and community host various programs. SWAMS has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development. About the role We are seeking a strategic and experienced Executive Director to lead and coordinate the delivery of SWAMS Health Programs, including Aged Care, Disability Services, Health Promotion and Community based Access & Engagement activities. The staffing cohort is comprised of approx. 80 employees and 5 Managers directly reporting to this position as Director. This position is a covering a parental leave period and will be offered as an initial 12-month fixed term contract based at our Bunbury location. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for:Managing and overseeing service delivery across the SWAMS geographic service area.Managing compliance and governance requirements across all programs.Ensuring programs meet performance indicators, reporting requirements, and best practice standards.Driving strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation as part of the Senior Management Team.Collaborating with the Board and Senior Leadership Team to shape the future of community services.Identifying and securing new funding opportunities to support and expand Health Programs.Foster partnerships and stakeholder engagementAdvocate for culturally appropriate service deliveryManage and control budgetsCoordinating periodic contractual reporting requirements of organisational funding bodies.Leading and mentoring the Managers within the Community Services group. About you This role will suit a strategic, values-driven leader who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities. You will bring a deep understanding of the Community Services sector, particularly in aged care and disability services. You will have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams in complex service environments and will bring the following experience and qualifications: Proven leadership experience in Community Services sector (Aged Care and/or Disability Services).Experience implementing processes that comply with governance and compliance requirementsStrong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex service deliveryExperience working collaboratively with senior leadership and governance bodiesCommitment to Aboriginal Health and WellbeingExperience in preparing and submitting high quality reports and funding applications for both internal and external stakeholders.
