Occupli has been Putting Safety to Work for over two decades.Occupli are recruiting to fill an urgent client requirementPosition Summary – Director of Health & Safety, quality and compliance.The Director of Compliance, Health & Safety, and ESG leads the strategic oversight of group compliance, workplace health and safety, environmental and social governance, and quality assurance (including ISO standards). This role ensures the organization / group upholds the highest standards of integrity, sustainability, and operational safety across all divisions and regions. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director fosters a proactive compliance culture, drives continuous improvement, and ensures readiness for future growth by strengthening governance frameworks, managing risk, and advancing sustainability initiatives.Your Mission: Lead with Vision, Deliver with ImpactAs Director, you won’t just manage frameworks—you’ll shape the culture, drive strategic transformation, and future-proof our business for sustainable success. This is a pivotal leadership role with broad scope across our operations in Ireland, the UK, and beyond.What You’ll Do:Drive Strategic ComplianceLead the design and execution of a forward-thinking compliance and risk strategy that enables growth, aligns with legal and industry standards, and reinforces company reputation for integrity.Champion Health & Safety ExcellenceSet the tone for a “safety-first” culture across all sites. Monitor performance, lead investigations, and embed best practices that protect our people and strengthen our operational resilience.Lead ESG and Sustainability StrategyOwn the ESG agenda—from carbon reduction to social impact. Align efforts with client priorities and emerging regulations, and chair our ESG Steering Group to keep organisation ahead of the curve.Ensure Quality Through ISO LeadershipOversee compliance with ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, and more. Lead audits, champion continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality is built into everything we do.Manage Risk & Corporate GovernanceMaintain our risk register and report on compliance to senior leadership. Guide integration of systems across new acquisitions and ensure strong governance through every phase of growth.Lead Change and Integration InitiativesSteer newly acquired companies through safety, ESG, and compliance onboarding. Align systems, training, and reporting across a unified organisation standard.Build Capability and CultureDrive training programmes that empower teams—from induction to toolbox talks. Partner with People & Culture to embed compliance and ESG into the fabric of our workplace.RequirementsProven leadership in compliance, H&S, ESG, or SHEQ—ideally within construction, infrastructure, or engineeringDeep understanding of Irish and UK regulatory landscapesStrong command of ISO systems and certification processesDemonstrated success in audits, incident response, and risk managementStrategic thinker with a hands-on, practical approachInfluential communicator and change leader across multiple regions and teamsRelevant qualifications in health & safety, environmental science, compliance, risk, or law
