The team is comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, all working together to accelerate economic development in Puerto Rico.Position OverviewThe Director of Stakeholder Affairs plays a key leadership role in shaping and advancing the stakeholder engagement strategy. This position is responsible for cultivating and strengthening a robust network of partners, elevating organizational visibility, and driving programs that build alignment, advocacy, and trust among public and private stakeholders.The Director will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive partner engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic vision, and will establish clear performance metrics to measure impact and return on investment.Key Responsibilities1. Stakeholder Strategy & Relationship ManagementBuild and strengthen strategic relationships with corporate, government, community, and industry stakeholders at the local, national, and international levels.Cultivate and maintain alliances with key influencers, including industry associations, trade organizations, business leaders, site selectors, academia, and media.Develop and execute a multi-channel engagement plan with tailored, strategic messaging.Position the CEO and leadership team as trusted partners and thought leaders across key networks.2. Visibility & AdvocacyEnhance organizational visibility and reputation through targeted engagement strategies across government, industry, and business communities.Mobilize partners to serve as advocates and ambassadors of Puerto Rico’s investment value proposition, driving broader ecosystem alignment.3. Communications & Public AffairsCollaborate with the executive team to shape and implement an engagement strategy that reflects strategic priorities.Educate stakeholders on mission, impact, and results through clear, data-driven messaging.Monitor industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to guide communications and engagement efforts.4. Partnerships, Events & ActivationsIdentify and pursue strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and joint initiatives that amplify the organization’s mission.Partner with the marketing and events teams to leverage events and activations as platforms for visibility and engagement.Plan and organize stakeholder meetings, forums, and convenings to communicate priorities, progress, and impact.5. Executive Support & Strategic CounselSupport the CEO and leadership team in developing and nurturing high-value relationships that advance organizational goals.Provide strategic counsel on stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with investment attraction priorities.Represent Puerto Rico at external events, conferences, and public engagements as needed.6. Operational & Administrative ManagementOversee the Stakeholder Affairs budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.Track performance metrics and support reporting on engagement outcomes and strategic initiatives.Ensure proper documentation, process compliance, and cross-team coordination.QualificationsCore CompetenciesExceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities.Proven ability to build coalitions and mobilize diverse stakeholders around a shared vision.Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish.Entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative, results-oriented approach.High level of integrity, credibility, and professionalism.Strong project and budget management skills.Ability to travel over 40% of the time.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).8–10 years of experience in stakeholder relations, public affairs, government relations, corporate engagement, or related areas.Demonstrated experience designing and implementing public awareness or stakeholder engagement campaigns.Familiarity with Puerto Rico’s business ecosystem and legislative affairs.Established relationships with local business, industry, and media stakeholders.Experience using CRM systems and digital engagement tools preferred.Why Join the OrganizationThis is a unique leadership opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping Puerto Rico’s economic development narrative and strengthening its global investment positioning.
