This role ensures the company attracts, retains, and develops top talent while fostering a culture of performance, compliance, and engagement.Reporting directly to Vice President of People and Culture, the Director oversees Talent Acquisition and manages a small team, ensuring seamless execution of HR operations and alignment with business priorities. This role is pivotal in translating business strategies into HR initiatives that support growth, mitigate risk, and enhance employee experience—while maintaining compliance with internal controls and external regulations.A Glimpse into Your Daily ActivitiesDevelopment and Organizational Effectiveness:Partner with business leaders and their teams to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of the business.Provide People Leaders with strategic and consultative services on complex people matters.Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements and policy needs.Support the change management and all HR-related communications for new and existing initiatives.Work with leaders to ensure compliance with talent management policies, practices and programs as well as providing data and metrics where possible (i.e. performance management completion rate, policy training, management training participation etc.).Sign and lead initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness, including team alignment, role clarity, and performance optimization while supporting regular reporting to the executive, leadership, and management teams.Employee Relations and Experience:Act as a subject matter expert, consulting internal stakeholders on talent strategy solutions and best practices.Investigate and resolve employee relations matters; consults with internal or external legal counsel where required.Provide assistance with corrective action/discipline activities including drafting documentation.Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and work with leaders to create action plan/retention strategies as needed.Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with employment legislation and HR industry developments, and contribute to continuous improvement by influencing HR strategies, policies, and procedures.Act as the Company’s cultural ambassador, promoting and modelling Tridel’s unique values and culture.Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning:Lead recruitment strategy and execution through the Talent Acquisition Lead.Oversee headcount planning, role design, and onboarding processes.Ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in hiring practices.Review and sign employment contracts, offer letters, and amendments as an authorized signing representative.Assist in preparing job postings, job descriptions, interview guides and assessment matrixes.Strategy and Support:Track progress against plans, defining appropriate metrics for measuring effectiveness and preparing reports.Develop meeting agendas and preparing reports, communications, presentations, and other materials as required.Analyze HR metrics and support the business in making data-driven decisions.Strive for continuous improvement and participate and/or lead with HR projects.The Architect of Your SuccessBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.8+ of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles with a strong focus on building scalable HR processes, systems, and governance frameworks.Proven success in designing and implementing talent management programs and evolving HR practices to align with organizational growth.Adept at partnering across functions and managing multiple stakeholders to drive people strategies and business outcomes.Highly adaptable and results-driven, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Strong understanding of business operations with the ability to align talent strategies to organizational goals (business partner mindset).Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.Data-driven with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.Skilled in coaching leaders and facilitating sessions that drive engagement, clarity, and performance.Who We AreFounded in 1934, Tridel is responsible for delivering over 90,000 homes to date, and we are proud to continue building not just our legacy but communities for years to come.As a purpose-driven company guided by our ‘Built for Life®’ commitment, we create socially and environmentally responsible communities and invest in innovations that promote quality, sustainability, high performance in construction, social inclusion and cohesion, and community economic development.
