The Director, Projects & Design – Asia Pacific excluding China (APACx) reports to the Senior Director, Projects & Design and is responsible for managing project stakeholders, the project timeline, the design process, and the successful opening/conversion/renovation of the hotel project. As the point of contact between Owners and internal and external partners, you are a conduit of information, a collaborator, and a facilitator between Hilton and Ownership.You will cover the Asia Pacific region, excluding Greater China & Mongolia, and be responsible for focus-service, full-service, CAPEX, lifestyle, and luxury hotel projects across all Hilton brands.How You Will Make An ImpactYour role is important, and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.Project ManagementProviding technical services and guiding all elements of the planning and design phase of the project.Support the Owner’s project timelines and construction progress to ensure a seamless hotel handover.Providing mentorship for the implementation of brand standards and any recommendations for meeting brand standards.Overseeing construction activities.Reporting to Owners, Stakeholders, and Senior Director on findings, key dates, solving project risks that will affect the hotel's success and opening, and conditional and final approvals.Improving the final product and preparation of waiver requests.Assisting in the solving of design problems as they arise in concert with Owners, Architects, Consultants, and Hilton Stakeholders.Implement effective and efficient strategies to suit the organization best.Plan meetings, agendas, site visits, and program deliverables optimally engaging/disengaging all parties promptly, allowing for accurate preparation and planning for the attendees.Plan meetings and travel in consideration of other Stakeholders and attendees' travel times and travel expense agreements for several trips.Design Management & Development AssistanceCo-create interior design concepts and storyboards in collaboration with design consultants.Provide Design Direction, Review, and Approval of architectural planning, interior design, FF&E, art & accessories, landscape design, graphics, and way-finding designs to ensure they meet the Brand Design Narrative, Brand standards, and Brand equity. Support Project Assessment, including Project Improvement Plan (PIP) inspections/reports to the Development team before application to facilitate project approval.Oversee interior design and provide strategic interior design direction.Facilitate design communication with owners/consultants through sketches and markups.Provide a comprehensive review of all stages of design in architecture, interiors, lighting, landscape, art & accessories, graphics, and wayfinding.Curate and review FF&E selections, carpets, artwork, and all items integral to the overall design narrative.Contribute to country-specific addenda to global Brand standards for all Hilton brands.WHY YOU’LL BE A GREAT FITYou Have These Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior DesignMinimum of 10+ years of experience in hospitality design roles and project management. Excellent communication, presentation, written, and public speaking skills.Ability to lead change, resolve issues, and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units, including maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.Ability to evaluate and find opportunities from a strategic perspective, develop, prioritize, and implement plans to meet the organization’s core strategic goals.Ability to accurately estimate project duration and pre-empt potential pitfalls based on experience, scheduling analysis, and interaction with other stakeholders and ownership teams.Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into the position and the department.
