Vision Talent is working with a leading Canadian Healthtech organization. They are seeking a Director, Technical Engineering to join their growing team.Please note that extensive healthcare experience is required in order to be considered.The Director will be responsible for defining, driving, and executing the technical strategy for the Health Data Platform’s Features team. This role is a senior technical leadership position focused on platform architecture, engineering decision-making, and delivery execution across a complex, enterprise-scale system. This role requires a data-driven technical leader who can mentor senior developers, make sound architectural decisions, and communicate clearly with executives, clients, and cross-functional teams.Responsibilities include all aspects of:Technical Strategy & Architecture, Engineering Delivery, Executive & Cross-Functional Alignment, Team Leadership & Development and Operational Accountability.Requirements8+ years in software engineering or backend/platform development.5+ years in technical leadership roles (director, lead architect, engineering manager, etc.).5+ years of experience in healthcare/healthtech is a MUST HAVE;Strong architectural background in cloud, distributed systems, enterprise platforms.Experience with Data Interoperability Health Platforms and/or Clinical Data Quality Measures is highly preferred.Solid familiarity with HL7 and/or FIHR technologies;Track record of guiding senior developers and leading large-scale engineering initiatives.Exceptional communication skills — comfortable with both engineering teams and executive leaders.Able to drive alignment across competing priorities with a structured, analytical approach.Experience in high-growth, fast-paced tech or scale-up environments preferred.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.Must meet all applicable background check requirements.This is a fully remote role that can be fulfilled from anywhere within Canada.
