As well as providing Ambulance Services, our programmes and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are helping to build strong, resilient communities across the motu; supporting everyone in Aotearoa to live healthier, happier and longer lives.Job DescriptionHe aha te tūranga - About the role: Reporting to the Primary Triage and Dispatch Manager, this role is responsible for the effective leadership, management, and resourcing of your team of Dispatchers assigned to a specific watch. You will oversee the activities on shift, ensuring the right care is delivered at the right time including timely escalation of operational issues to the appropriate manager to support optimal outcomes for all callers and patients seeking advice or care from the ambulance service.Key Responsibilities:Ensure effective Dispatch service delivery during rostered shifts, meeting organisational KPIs and performance targets.Act as a subject matter expert for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), escalating and documenting issues promptly to the IOC Duty Manager.Support dispatch coordination as directed by the IOC Duty Manager.Drive continuous improvement and innovation in collaboration with the Primary Triage and Dispatch Manager to enhance performance and patient outcomes.Foster strong communication and collaboration across IOC workstreams to support consistent and efficient operations.Provide clear leadership and support to the team, including mentoring, feedback, and performance development.Recognise and share best practices while addressing performance issues and supporting team accountabilityQualificationsKo wai koe - About you: Emergency Medical Dispatcher Qualified preferred 5 years leadership experience desirable Strong, reliable decision-making with a collaborative approachPromotes accountability and continuous improvement across teamsEmpathetic communicator with strong rapport-building skillsCustomer and patient-focused mindsetExcellent time management and organisational skillsProficient in CAD and related IT systemsAdditional InformationBenefits 4x4 Roster, working an average of 42hrs per week (4 days on 4 days off including 2-night shifts) to support a better work/life balanceComprehensive training & mentoring program with continued professional developmentJoin a tight-knit team that are passionate about what they do and have the opportunity to make life-long friendsMe pēhea te tuku tono - How to apply:Click “I’m interested” before applications close at midnight on Wednesday 29 October(please ensure you upload a CV and cover letter outlining what yo have to offer with your application to be considered for this role).
