As KBR JOC we deliver construction services to the US Military and collation partners at Djibouti Africa camp Lemonier Naval Base round the world.

We furnish all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, incidental engineering, and other items necessary to perform renovations, maintenance, replacements, alterations, demolition, and provision of temporary facilities for NAVFAC construction category II, III, and IV tasks. KBR/JOC ensures delivery to the highest standard in every aspect of construction work in a timely manner allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution. Job SummaryThe Associate Specialist HSE-JOC reports to the HSE Manager -JOC and supports KBR’s safety programs by assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety policies and procedures.

This role focuses on promoting a safety-conscious work environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting in incident investigations and safety training initiatives. The role involves site visits, field inspections, and exposure to industrial environments. Candidate must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Roles And Responsibilities Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with EM-385, OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Support the development and delivery of safety training programs for personnel.

Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics Help investigate safety incidents and near-misses, compiling reports and recommending corrective actions. Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting systems. Promote safety awareness through communication and engagement with project teams. Support the implementation of KBR’s safety policies and procedures. Assist in the management of safety equipment and PPE inventory. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

1-3 years of experience in safety, environmental health, or related roles. Knowledge of EM385, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory safety standards. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software. Relevant certifications such as EM385, OSHA 10/30-Hour, OSHA 500, or NEBOSH are a plus. Must be fluent in English. Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining. Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity. Preferred QualificationsExperience with large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
