At DNV, we are committed to supporting this transition by delivering trusted insights, technical expertise, and forward-looking research.
As the industry explores a wide range of decarbonization strategies – such as alternative fuels (e. g. , ammonia, methanol, LNG, hydrogen), hybrid and electric propulsion, energy efficiency technologies, and carbon capture – our team is at the forefront of developing models, tools, and insights that shape future regulations, operational practices, and DNV services. To reach a comprehensive impact, we work at the intersection of ship design, fuel lifecycle analysis, emissions modelling, and regulatory compliance.
Are you ready to help shape the future of sustainable maritime transport? We are looking for a dedicated and curious researcher to join our Maritime Research Team, focusing on either: Modeling maritime emissions, orVessel efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of science-based solutions that support the industry’s shift toward cleaner, more efficient operations.
You will be part of DNV’s Group Research and Development (GRD) at Høvik, Norway, working alongside a diverse team of experts exploring the future of maritime transport – from alternative fuels and propulsion technologies to digital tools and regulatory frameworks – helping to guide both industry and policy toward sustainable outcomes. If you are passionate about maritime sustainability and want to make a real impact through applied research, we encourage you to apply.
Typical ResponsibilitiesEngage in research projects to build knowledge, competence, and insights into the costs, benefits, and risks of future decarbonization technologies, alternative fuels, and their value chains.
