Role Objective The Credit Analyst will provide operational and analytical support to the Trading & Manufacturing section in preparing Credit proposals/applications, ensuring effective monitoring of all aspects of business in terms of credit quality, as per the internal policies and procedures, QCB guidelines and other relevant regulatory framework. The job holder will identify, measure, monitor, control and perform periodic reviews of the risk inherent in the allotted portfolios.
The incumbent will analyze customer strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations, and noting any deviations from the policies, and terms, as appropriate, and will prepare and review annual or quarterly reports as appropriate for the portfolios. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities: Perform all activities, as assigned by the reporting authority, in compliance with regulatory guidelines, and internal policies and procedures. Prepare credit proposals with appropriate interpretations on the financial aspects and identify the risk factors and suggest credit enhancers, as applicable, in consistent with the Credit policies and regulatory framework and provide recommendations.
Ensure Internal Credit Rating and RAROC is carried out for all lending clients and update same on annual basis or as and when a new facility is granted, new information available etc. Review to ensure that all credit documents are complete, by identifying documentation deficiencies, if any and report to the respective employees, for timely resolution. Assess the credit worthiness by accumulating pertinent information (strengths and weaknesses relating to historical functional performance) regarding customers for facilities granted/to be granted.
Liaise with the respective employees, for clarifications/ rectifications on account of incompleteness of information provided, and to ensure all the Credit applications are completed within the set turnaround time. Contribute towards continuous development of credit procedures by recommending solutions and/or ascertaining capacities for enhancement. Prepare facility renewals and monitor past dues and effect preventive /corrective measure for regularizing the accounts, as directed by the reporting authority.
Review facility release/ amendment forms to ensure respective portfolios carry acceptable risk at pre and post sanction stages, and is compliant to approval terms/ policy, prior to disbursement/ recoveries of the allotted portfolio accountsReview to ensure that all the documentations are in line with the Credit Approvals and credit policies. Review to ensure submission of all required documents in relation to the credit processing, including but not limited to Commercial Registrations, etc.
Promptly respond to and/or escalate requests and/or queries raised by the internal and external customers and the Compliance function within prescribed authority as directed by the Section HeadEducational Qualifications: University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline. Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage. Experience: 05-08 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline. Experience in credit analysis in Corporate and commercial banking sector, with strong understanding of the local banking industry. .
