Downstream Biotechnologist

*EU Applicants Only*About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced bioprocessing professional to strengthen our downstream manufacturing group, focused on the production of complex biologics. This position is best suited for someone with strong technical depth, the ability to guide others, and a passion for improving large-scale production processes.What You’ll DoCarry out and oversee downstream operations in line with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.Ensure production suites, utilities, and equipment are always prepared for audits and inspections.Conduct routine and critical operations in classified cleanroom environments.Prepare and qualify buffers and media according to quality standards.Take responsibility for creating, reviewing, and approving manufacturing records, SOPs, and other regulated documents.Support process validation and scale-up/technology transfer activities.Investigate deviations, identify root causes, and propose corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).Supervise lab and floor-based work, ensuring tasks are completed to compliance standards.Act as a trainer and mentor, helping colleagues build new skills and grow into versatile team members.Play an active role in regulatory inspections, client audits, and approval readiness activities.Identify new ways to make processes more efficient, lean, and cost-effective.Step in to support leadership when needed.What You BringA degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering or related scientific field (or equivalent practical experience).At least 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical production, ideally with exposure to monoclonal antibody or recombinant protein manufacturing.Hands-on expertise in both upstream and downstream equipment operation.Solid background in cell culture principles, process optimization, scale-up, and validation work.Ability to work across teams, contribute to decision-making, and take the lead when necessary.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.What’s on OfferFull visa sponsorship and relocation assistance.A chance to work in a modern facility dedicated to advancing next-generation biologics.Career progression opportunities within a collaborative and international team.A role that combines hands-on operations, strategic project input, and leadership development.
