Job Description

Job Purpose JOB DESCRIPTION DP World is currently seeking a highly skilled Key Account Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to join our expanding team. This role will serve as the primary liaison for key accounts within DP World’s industry verticals, ensuring seamless management of existing operational portfolios, successful implementation of new customers, and efficient order management throughout service commencement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting customer needs and driving long-term business growth. We are open to applicants in both Auckland and Christchurch for this role.

Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and the DP World network, serving as the main point of contact and escalation for customer issues. Define and implement key account strategies, value propositions, and customer-focused solutions to expand business opportunities. Ensure smooth business transitions into operations, establishing standard operating procedures, IT/EDI integrations, and resolving operational challenges. Conduct regular review sessions with customers to enhance service offerings, drive innovation, and align solutions to evolving needs. Monitor profitability, service performance, and pipeline activity, using insights to drive efficiencies and manage financial results.

Lead internal training, support adoption of new tools/processes, and analyse business losses to implement corrective actions. Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceThe successful candidate will possess the following: 3-5 years experience in Key Account Management. Experience in operational project management on new implementations. Excellent understanding of the freight forwarding and international trade sector. Strong customer service skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work and solution issues independently. Cargowise (Wise-Tech) experience and knowledge advantageous.
