Draftsman

JOB PURPOSE: GCL is looking to hire a Draftsman who will assist in the preparation of accurate technical drawings for civil, construction, residential, and landscaping projects. The Draftsman supports engineers, architects, and project teams by translating design concepts into drawings, maintaining documentation, and learning industry standards and best practices.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software under the guidance of senior staff.Assist in translating design sketches and specifications into accurate construction drawings.Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to update drawings and resolve minor discrepancies.Support site visits to collect measurements and verify dimensions as required.Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material take-offs.Ensure drawings comply with company standards and relevant codes under supervision.Maintain proper drawing records, files, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.Provide drafting-related support to the technical team and collaborate with multidisciplinary departments.EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.Minimum Experience: 2-5 years of drafting experience in civil, construction, residential, or landscaping projects.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:Job Specific:Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.Ability to interpret design sketches and specifications under supervision.Working proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D is a plus).Familiarity with Civil 3D, Revit, or other design software is advantageous.Interest in Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Landscaping drafting.Generic Skills: Good communication and coordination skills with team members.Effective time management and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work collaboratively in a team while developing independence over time.
