Research Associate

Job SummaryThe Research Associate position will provide support to the study investigators and research staff located in the Department of Community Health & Prevention in the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Research Associate will be primarily responsible for completing data collection for a study focused on medical cannabis use. This includes, but is not limited to:

conducting research interviews (quantitative and qualitative); performing audits on various data collection documents; distributing and reconciling follow-up surveys; and assisting with training and mentoring of students involved in the projectDetail-oriented, organized, personable individual needed to conduct interviews and related responsibilities for Drexel’s Medical Cannabis Research Center, which is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Please visit to learn more about the Center and the study. Essential FunctionsServe as primary interviewer for a medical cannabis study. Develop thorough understanding of various data collection and tracking documents in order to conduct audits and assure data validity.

Distribute and track completion of follow-up surveys for enrolled participants. Onboard and train students as backup interviewers as-needed. Other duties may be assigned as additional research projects come down the pipeline. Required QualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, or related fields or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. ( Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information. ) Minimum of 1-2 years of experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. A competitive applicant should also have an understanding of both quantitative and qualitative interviewing approaches. Expertise in Microsoft Office and REDCap/Qualtrics is highly recommended.

Preferred QualificationsPrior experience conducting interviews required. Familiarity with medical cannabis research is a plus. LocationUniversity City - Philadelphia, PAAdditional InformationThis position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 to $ 61,680 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
