Job DescriptionA new opportunity has arisen for a Bit Repair Supervisor at our upcoming Reed Hycalog repair facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the repair area, overseeing all bit repair activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in full compliance with company standards. This is a hands-on role, responsible for training and working alongside technicians, managing and planning repairs, and coordinating inbound/outbound inventory with the sales team. The position also covers QHSE compliance, personnel management, maintenance scheduling, equipment and materials purchasing, and inventory control, ensuring fast, efficient, and high-quality bit repairs.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesLead by example and work directly alongside technicians on all repair-related tasks.Plan, lead, and assign daily tasks to operators during the repair cycle to ensure bits are returned to the field quickly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.Receive used bits from the field, assess repair viability, and determine rerun potential.Coordinate with technical authority engineers and the sales team for repair cost approvals.Oversee all bit repair processes, including thermal brazing and hardfacing of both new and used bits.Supervise all repair and brazing/hardfacing operations in accordance with approved procedures.Understand and manage all job requirements, supervisor expectations, and pre-job meetings.Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and company quality standards.Administer and maintain all repair-related and company documentation processes.Maintain knowledge of storage areas and relevant procedures.Ensure all personnel are trained and qualified for the proper operation of equipment and machinery.Promote and uphold HSE standards, leading by example in all safety practices.Support training and development of repair technicians.Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area.Ensure compliance with all applicable NOV HSE Operational Requirements.Skills & Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or GED; 3–6 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Previous experience in a manufacturing, welding, assembly, or grinding environment preferred.Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, memos, and engineering drawings.Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to work non-standard hours and maintain 24/7 availability for rig or operational support.Proven team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, technical environment.About UsEvery day, the oil and gas industry’s best minds put more than 150 years of experience to work to help our customers achieve lasting success.We Power the Industry that Powers the WorldThroughout every region in the world and across every area of drilling and production, our family of companies has provided the technical expertise, advanced equipment, and operational support necessary for success—now and in the future.Global FamilyWe are a global family of thousands of individuals, working as one team to create a lasting impact for ourselves, our customers, and the communities where we live and work.Purposeful InnovationThrough purposeful business innovation, product creation, and service delivery, we are driven to power the industry that powers the world better.Service Above AllThis drives us to anticipate our customers’ needs and work with them to deliver the finest products and services on time and on budget.
