Job offersDrone Software & Hardware Integration EngineerCompanyVentus Group is a global wind turbine service provider enabling off and onshore wind farm owners to increase asset production and returns while driving down the risk and cost of energy.We offer a wide range of services mainly based on Ventus patents including Rotor Condition Monitoring, Drone Inspections, nacelle-based LiDAR Measurements, Static and Dynamic Relative Blade Pitch Misalignment Measurements using high-speed camera technology, End-of-Warranty & Taking-Over inspections (EOW & TO) and Dissolved Gas Analysis.Our multinational team of highly specialised professionals from over 16 countries can identify and analyse possible scenarios in order to recommend the best solution to meet customer objectives.We are ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified and related to our globalization our focus is to ensure high quality in all our activities performed globally.CANDIDATEWe are looking for a Drone Software & Hardware Integration Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team in Vienna, Austria.You will be part of an international team which focuses on the constant development and testing of the UAV systems which are used for Ventus innovative and patented Dynamic Drone Relative Blade Pitch Misalignment (DDRBPM) service, as well as supporting and performing test flights for assessment of the developed UAS. This service has been certified from DNV according to the standard 'DNV -SE- 0439-2021-10 Certification of Condition Monitoring for Wind Turbines'.YOUR TASKSExplore, develop, and deploy novel hardware & software features for the current and future DRBPM UAV platformIntegrate, test, and validate new UAV sensors and camerasBe responsible to prepare test procedures, to validate the functionality of each sensor firmware as well as the whole system functionality, flight simulation testing as well as field testingPerform field test flights for assessment of the developed UAS (Drone piloting skills required)Participate in demo projects for further assessment of the stability and functionality of current and future DRBPM UAV platformDesign prototypes for DRBPM UAV payload & Rapid prototyping via 3D printingYOUR PROFILEUniversity Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/ Robotics/ Embedded systems/ Electrical engineering / Mechanical engineering or other related university degreeUnderstanding UAV electronics and multi-copter development as well as principle of operationIndustry experience in developing UAVs/ robotics using C/C++, Python and LinuxExperience with flight control systems such as PX4 flight stack / QGroundcontrol / Ardupilot flight stack, Dronecode SDK, MAVLink communication protocol, as well as low level communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)UAV piloting skills and a licenseCAD Design & Rapid prototyping via 3D printingPossession of strong problem-solving skills, curious, resourceful and agile mindsetGood written and spoken English is required, as this is the corporate working languageWE OFFERDynamic work environment in a fast-developing start-up and innovative teamPossibility for a rapid professional developmentHybrid work model, in the office and from homeCulturally diverse team and international work environmentAccording to the Austrian law we must indicate the minimum gross annual salary for this position, which would be € 49.000 (based on 40 hours/week, 14 salary checks), however, we are ready to pay more depending on your qualification, experience and individual competencies.Starting date: as soon as possibleThis position is open for the employment at our headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
