Job Description

Job BriefThe role will provide operational and administrative support to the ASIPS+ Security Team Open to National citizens only Full-time contract until 30 June 2027 with expected extensionProgram BackgroundASIPS+ works across the Australian bilateral aid program, as well as provides support to the Australian High Commission administrations in Honiara. The in-country ASIPS+ Facility Support Unit (FSU) operates in a complex and evolving context, providing operational services to enable DFAT to meet its goals and objectives in Solomon Islands. The range of support includes, but is not limited to:

Procurement and contract management of technical assistance in Solomon Islands and remotely, and support to performance management across all sector programs; Provision of support services (including logistics and security management) for Australian Government’s deployees and technical advisers; and Strategic advice, management and reporting, including program management (education), infrastructure technical management, monitoring and evaluation, strategic communications financial management and grant management. The integration of the cross-cutting issues of gender equality, disability and social inclusion, climate change, indigenous participation and localisation throughout program delivery.

Qualification Certificate or Diploma in security risk management, work health and safety, or a related field. Experience Demonstrated experience in security operations, field supervision, or site management. Experience in relevant areas including property management, compliance monitoring, or operational coordination. Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and record-keeping. Valid Solomon Islands driver’s licence (manual vehicle). Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal. Vocational training in security services or law enforcement (desirable). Ability to work flexibly, including outside regular business hours and on a 24/7 basis for emergencies.

Strong report writing skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to supervise field staff and coordinate operational activities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in the field.
