Job Description

Job DescriptionWe are looking for lab manager for our pre-clinical PET/SPECT/CT imaging facility that is currently under installation within our animal facility at Lyngby campus, bldg. 202. The lab is part of a larger imaging infrastructure, the Translational Imaging Center. The PET/SPECT/CT imaging facility is part of the Hevesy Lab at Risø that produces radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and pre-clinical purposes. The lab manager is with reference to the Head of the Hevesy lab.

Responsibilities/TasksResponsible for developing the new preclinical PET/SPECT imaging laboratory to support the needs for researchers at DTU Health Tech and strengthen national and international collaboration with academic groups and commercial partners for research, innovation, and teaching. Responsible for creating a forward-thinking research strategy and help develop a sustainable economy for the laboratory. Serve as radiation safety officer, ensuring compliance with national safety regulations and maintaining the radioisotope license. Educate technical personnel and students in PET/SPECT/CT imaging and radiation safety. Guide researchers in experimental design, data interpretation, and imaging-related grant applications.

Implementing and characterizing new imaging methods, protocols and experimental set-ups. Responsible for maintaining equipment service contracts and industrial research collaborations. Our expectations of youStrong scientific background – a PhD within biomedical imaging, radiopharmacy, radiochemistry, or similar. 15+ years of research experience in preclinical imaging and 3+ years of experience in the industry with strong commercial insight. FELASA C certification, Isotope license and demonstrated experience with image data analysis. Deep technical knowledge of preclinical PET/SPECT/CT scanner hardware and software including different reconstruction techniques. Hands-on experience with preclinical models (e. g. , cancer, metabolic, liver, cardiovascular diseases).

Excellent communication skills with both scientists and clinicians. Fluent in English and Danish.
