459 Minimum Requirements And RecommendationsBachelor’s degree/ BTech in Chemistry (NQF 7)Three (3) years of experience in a chemistry laboratoryKnowledge of the OSH Act with regulations specific to a chemistry laboratoryKnowledge of equipment and/or apparatus required for practical sessionsKnowledge of GC and/or GCMSConversant with procurement proceduresExcellent communication abilities in written, verbal, and presentation skillsAbility to effectively demonstrate practical experiment(s) and proceduresAbility to perform certain tasks individually, whilst performing other tasks within a teamDemonstrate organisational and planning skillsAbility to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and liaise with external customersSummary Of DutiesPrepare and set up for practical sessions as per requirementsTrain students in the proper and safe use of equipment and/or apparatusProvide resources and technical support for research projectsMaintenance of laboratory equipmentControl the issue of consumables and equipment, and/or apparatus as requiredMaintains an up-to-date stock registry of consumables, equipment, and/or apparatusFunction as an Invigilator for exams and tests as requiredLiaise with the Senior Technician and relevant Lecturer regarding practical sessions and testsAssist in all departmental functions as requiredTimeous submission of accurate and up-to-date reports to the relevant Lecturer and Senior TechnicianObtain quotations for the purchase of consumables, equipment, and/or apparatus as requiredDirect enquiries to Mrs Zulu:
