Day to day, you will:Platform Engineering & IntegrationDesign and build sophisticated integrations across Shopify, commercetools, and internal systems that enable seamless commerce experiences and unlock business capabilities.Develop Node.js-based services and APIs that extend and optimize our e-commerce platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.Collaborate with the Head of Data and engineering leadership on platform architecture, especially around event modeling, analytics instrumentation, and system integrations.Ensure platform stability, data consistency, and technical excellence across all e-commerce systems, establishing engineering standards and automated testing frameworks.Commerce Innovation & OptimizationCreate and maintain custom Shopify apps and extensions that improve checkout, subscriptions, and customer engagement, driving measurable improvements in conversion and retention.Embed with marketing, growth, and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that enable real-time optimization and experimentation.Develop platform capabilities that support sophisticated attribution, personalization, and customer journey tracking across all touchpoints.Partner with growth teams to build technical foundations for conversion optimization, A/B testing, and targeted customer experiences.System Architecture & Technical LeadershipContribute to system architecture decisions, ensuring our e-commerce foundation is performant, reliable, and easy to evolve as the business scales.Build with analytics and attribution in mind—work closely with the Head of Data to ensure the platform captures complete and accurate event data across all customer touchpoints.Drive continuous improvement in performance, deployment practices, and platform scalability through monitoring, automation, and engineering best practices.Champion both technical excellence and business impact, ensuring engineering decisions directly support key metrics like CAC, LTV, and conversion rates.Cross-Functional PartnershipWork hand-in-hand with marketing, product, data, and leadership teams to ensure technology enables data-driven decision-making at every level.Act as the go-to expert for e-commerce platform capabilities within Alloy, bridging technical architecture with business needs.Partner with marketing operations and data teams to optimize tracking implementation and system integrations, ensuring our platform supports the full analytics and personalization stack.QualificationsRequiredA Bachelor's Degree required, Computer Science or related technical field preferred, and 4+ years of platform engineering or full-stack development experience.Deep, hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, commercetools, or similar) and understanding of key metrics (CAC, LTV, conversion rates, attribution models).Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with a proven record of building scalable integrations and services that drive revenue and commerce efficiency.Comfort working with APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures that power modern commerce experiences.A conversion-focused engineering mindset that balances technical precision with business impact, with the ability to spot opportunities to improve platform capabilities and overall commerce effectiveness.Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with a history of working closely with cross-functional teams to directly impact e-commerce performance.PreferredExperience developing or maintaining custom Shopify apps and headless storefronts.Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js) for headless storefront development.Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (GCP, BigQuery, or AWS) and CI/CD automation.Deep experience with e-commerce data flows and event instrumentation, with knowledge of how data moves through systems and how to diagnose integration issues.Experience integrating marketing or CRM systems (Klaviyo, Segment, Braze, etc.) with e-commerce platforms.Prior experience working in high-growth DTC, retail, or subscription-based e-commerce environments.A mix of technical expertise and business thinking—you're just as comfortable architecting production systems as you are partnering with marketing teams to understand their needs.Company OverviewAlloy Health is the leading direct-to-consumer women’s digital health company providing women with expert care, trusted information, and personalized solutions to feel their best in perimenopause and menopause.
