The ideal applicant should have an extensive knowledge of electrical machines and experience with various AC motor types, such as induction motor, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), and wound field synchronous motor (WRSM).Major ResponsibilitiesConstant improvement of development methodology in the field of electric machine design, production and electric drive systemEnsuring state-of-the-art electrical engineering / electronics expertise in machine designVery good knowledge to standards (IATF 16949 / APQP / PPAP / Tisax)Compliance with standards and regulationsCompliance with the technical and economic project objectivesTechnical responsibility in engineering projects / tasksMonitoring the costs and dates of simulation services and if necessary, introduction of corrective actionsParticipation and certification and audit skillsCustomer focusRepresentation of the departmentProactive communication of technical risks in projectsKnowledge And EducationBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or MechatronicsComputer skills / MS-OfficeMethodological knowledge to cope with specialist tasks (FMEA, DoE, Problem solution process 7-Step, etc.)Basic knowledge on Q-Standards (ISO / TS 16949)Basic knowledge on product liabilityProject and task specific knowledge on customer demand / standardsProactive and independent working style, accuracy, reliability and resilienceForeign languages: very good knowledge of spoken and written German and EnglishInterest in continuous education and improvementTeamwork, sociability, communication skills and willingness to travelWork Experience8+ years’ experience in electric machine design for automotive applicationsSkills And CompetenciesParticipation in development project of electrical machines for pure electric and hybrid vehicles concept design to serial productionDevelopment/Support of simulation models in the fields of electrodynamics & electronicsTechnology selection, design and optimization of electrical machinesAnalysis and implementation of customer requirements and standardsCoordination of interfaces (Motor-sensors, Connection technology, etc.)Definition of requirements and creation of specification sheets for eMotor components (SORs)Coordination of technical requirements of electric machine components (create, edit, request, coordinate, tracking of electric machine requirements)Checking the implementation / feasibility of electric machine requirementsSupporting and defining electric machine testing activitiesSupport evaluation of electric machine test resultsResearch and evaluation/potential estimation of new technologies for electromagnetic componentsActive participation in team, group and departmental meetings and active support of the eMotor project leaderCollaboration with system/electronic development, mechanical design, testing, suppliers and scientific institutesProven knowledge of Electric machine production, Electric machine testingProactive and independent working style, accuracy, reliability and resilienceAwareness, Unity, EmpowermentAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
