We are seeking a highly skilled Lab Specialist for Liberlab (sister company for Earthtime) to be based in our lab, in Liberia, Monrovia. He/She, in close coordination with the Lab Analyst, and under the guidance of the Lab Manager, will be responsible of daily lab operations, as well as the continuous development of the lab. The ideal profile holds a chemistry degree and has proven experience in a lab setting. Key Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise the physio-chemical and microbiological water testing and analysis, using a wide variety of laboratory equipment including but not limited to UV lamp, spectrophotometer, micro centrifuge, autoclaves and water purification system Manage the laboratory result reports and share them with the Lab Manager, maintain records of all laboratory analysis and tests, and ensure compliance with ISO regulations Perform routine calibrations of equipment using calibration procedures Maintain laboratory tools and equipment Ensure inventories of materials, chemicals and reagents are maintained as per business needs, report to the Lab Manager accordingly Assess laboratory equipment needs (equipment accessories) including but not limited reagents supply among other needs Implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control /QC) procedures Under QA responsibilities, maintain chemical storage room safe and under required control and safety conditions.
This includes hazardous, toxic and flammable chemicals Coordinate outsourcing procedure, including preparing bottles for samples, collecting them at the Lab, coordinating with the Lab Technician for samples collection at clients’ premises, carrying out shipping of samples and preparing shipping documents accordingly Assist the Laboratory Manager in coordinating the activities and operations of the laboratory; including but not limited to, communication with clients, addressing clients’ needs and questions Monitor and assess the lab workflow processes and identify areas for improvement Apply innovative research and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the lab in accordance with ISO standardsWork on ISO standards to ensure lab ISO certificationAssist in writing the lab SOPs aligned with the company and lab strategies Perform various other duties as assigned depending on workload Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry, biology or related field Mid-level role, requires proven years of experience in a lab setting, 7 to 10 years of relevant experienceWriting skills, ability to read and write documents like SOPsAnalytical skills, attention to detailsStrong knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 17025: 2005 Willing to relocate to Liberia
