Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)About the Role: Our client, a growing company in the manufacturing and distribution sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and operational excellence. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to set and execute the company's strategic vision while ensuring day-to-day operations are aligned with long-term goals. This role is based in Illinois, with preference for candidates in or willing to relocate to the Greater Chicagoland area.
Candidates based elsewhere in Illinois may be considered, provided they are able to travel to the Chicago headquarters every other week. Key Responsibilities: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction across all areas of the business. Oversee daily operations, financial performance, and organizational culture. Drive operational improvements and efficiencies, with a strong focus on manufacturing or distribution best practices. Partner with the executive leadership team to execute growth strategies, including potential M&A activity and market expansion. Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board, customers, vendors, and key stakeholders. Lead talent acquisition, development, and retention of a high-performing team.
Foster a performance-driven, accountable culture that aligns with the company's mission and values. Qualifications: Proven track record as a CEO, President, or senior executive leader (COO, GM) in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong operational background with experience driving improvements in cost, quality, and customer delivery. Demonstrated success in scaling businesses or leading organizations through transformation. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors or Private Equity investors is a plus. Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Location & Travel Requirements: Candidates located in Illinois are preferred.
Candidates from outside Illinois must be willing to relocate to the Greater Chicago area (relocation support available). For candidates located elsewhere in Illinois, travel to Chicago HQ every other week is required.
