Description: The Alliance 4 American Leadership (A4AL) is a bipartisan coalition of foreign policy experts and young professionals committed to strengthening American leadership through strategic investments in global development. We believe that effective foreign aid supports national security, protects against global threats, and boosts the U.S. economy. We are seeking volunteer Editorial Assistant Interns to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all of our written communications. Interns in this role will work closely with the Communications team to review, refine, and proofread press releases, reports, web content, and other public-facing materials to maintain high editorial standards. This is a fully remote position with optional in-person opportunities in Washington, DC.Responsibilities:Editorial Assistant Interns will review and edit written content for grammar, style, and factual accuracy. They will help ensure all materials align with A4AL’s editorial guidelines and messaging standards. Interns will also fact-check statements, suggest improvements for clarity, and provide feedback to writers on tone and structure. Additional duties may include formatting documents for publication, assisting with layout for reports or digital content, and collaborating with the Communications team on content strategy.Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have strong editing and proofreading skills, a keen eye for detail, and familiarity with AP style or other editorial standards. Experience in journalism, communications, or English is a plus, as is comfort working in Google Workspace. The ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and provide constructive editorial feedback is essential. Prior experience editing press releases, policy briefs, or campaign materials is a strong advantage but not required.
